The Portuguese-Brazilian central defender Pepe will not proceed to Porta club where he ended his contract and bid him farewell with a tribute video of his best moments in which he pointed out that the player was a “legend” who “raised them”.
The 41-year-old veteran defender said goodbye to the ‘dragons’ after winning four Ligas, five Portuguese Cups, four Super Cups, one League Cup and one Intercontinental Cup, as the blue and white club recalled in their social networks.
Kepler Laveran de Lima Ferreira, known as Pepe, arrived at Porto in 2004 from Marítimo and played three seasons, until signing with Real Madrid in 2007. After ten seasons in Madrid and one and a half in Turkish club Besiktas, he returned to Porto in 2019. In his two seasons with the ‘dragons’ he played a total of 290 games and scored 17 goals.
Pepe did not reveal whether he will bid farewell to the Portugal team after losing in the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup against France.
