Minutes after England sealed their place in the Euro Cup final after beating the Netherlands with a goal from Watkins in stoppage time, Luis de la Fuente appeared on RTVE’s microphones to assess the final championship rivals.
“The two best teams are in the final,” summarized the Spanish coach. “England, France and Germany are the main favorites before the start of the Euro Cup and, to complete the championship, we have another power,” explained De la Fuente.
“Both the Netherlands and England are good teams, very tough rivals. England is a seasoned rival with players who have a lot of experience, both at national team and club level. This is a very strong team, with a lot of quality, there is no need to name anyone”, continued the prepared Riojan from the Spanish concentration in the headquarters of the Black Forest.
“England has great football players and is very strong.
