Ugly images left at the end of the match between Uruguay and Colombia in the Copa América semifinals. The coffee team won 0-1 thanks to a solo goal from Jefferson Lerma and will face Argentina next Sunday for the title.
The Uruguayan players didn’t quite get the elimination. So many Uruguayan players got into a fight with a group of Colombian fans located near the locker room tunnel.
According to the EFE agency, the fight started between the fans and that’s when some players from Uruguay jumped into the stands.
Darwin Núñez, José María Giménez, De la Cruz and Ronald Araujo, the latter due to injury, clashed with Colombian fans and Liverpool fans even argued. The reason why the fight started is unknown at this time, but stadium security had to intervene to separate the opponents.
Photos also show how a Colombian fan punches a Uruguayan player. Celestial fans have also entered the fray.
Just after the final whistle, several soccer players from Colombia and Uruguay had to be separated because there was a stupid attempt. Apparently, the Uruguayans didn’t like some of the Colombians’ celebratory gestures. The match, tough and aggressive as has been the trend in this Copa América, ended in the worst possible way.
