Dani Pedrosa He is one of the greatest legends of MotoGP. For example, just Valentino Rossi and Giacamo Agostini They have more podiums than him throughout history (Dani has 152) and he holds the record for the most consecutive seasons winning at least one race (16). However, he did not get his deserved crown in the main category. And the big sin is because of the amount of injuries that marked his career.
Bad luck with injuries caused him to miss many races throughout the season. This is what he says on Motorsport.com’s ‘Por Orejas’ podcast. But which ones ticked you off the most?
“One of the things that marked me the most was one in the shoulder, similar to what Marc Márquez suffered. This happened to me when I was 14 years old training at CEV, It healed badly because I was so young they didn’t operate on me. That left shoulder is super limited, I can’t move and it still hurts. And I had a lot of problems after that, especially on the big bike, to get the strength.
But where he had the worst time was even when he retired. The one from Castellar del Vallés suffered badly on his collarbone and was badly injured despite no longer competing at the highest level as a starting driver.
“When I retired, I had a serious problem with my collarbone. I had it disintegrated. One part is so bruised, the bone doesn’t repair itself. He’s not healthy enough to heal and he can’t handle the force you’re exerting. First he had to find the solution, which was a long process. Thanks to some stem cell doctors, they helped me solve it. and then I feel so good”
In addition to all this, Pedrosa explained that he also suffered from chronic fatigue, similar to what happened to Stoner, and it took him two, three years to recover.
