The English rider Charlotte Dujardin will not compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics after being investigated for a video that allegedly showed him whipping a student’s horse during a training session.
The multiple Olympic medalist claimed he made an “error in judgement” in the event filmed four years ago, which was first revealed by Dutch website horses.nl.
According to the British agency PA, the complaint to the International Equestrian Sports Federation (FEI) and the British Equestrian Federation (FEB) came from a Dutch lawyers on behalf of a client.
“A video from four years ago has surfaced showing me making an error in judgment during a training session,” the athlete said in a statement to PA.

“What happened was completely out of character and does not reflect how I train my horses or my students. However, there is no excuse. I am deeply ashamed and should set a better example,” he says.
Dujardinwho is the British athlete with the most Olympic medals along with Laura Kenny, with a total of six, apologized for his actions and for disappointing the UK team and its sponsors, while promising to cooperate with the investigation.
