The Argentine Football Association (AFA) filed a complaint on Wednesday with FIFA over what happened during the under-23 team’s debut at the Paris Olympic Games, which ended in a 1-2 loss against Morocco after a nearly two-hour suspension.
“From the Argentine Football Association, we have already raised the claim to the FIFA Disciplinary Commission so that the relevant regulatory measures can be taken and the penalty imposed on whoever or whoever matches,” wrote the president through his social network account of AFA, Claudio Tapia.
This announcement follows a long list of complaints in Argentina – including by Lionel Messi– for resuming the match and disallowing an agonizing goal after an extensive delay of the game due to the invasion of the field by Moroccan fans and the throwing of bottles and at least one firecracker against the South team American while celebrating the score of 2 -2.
