Gschnitz is in a state of emergency! The city of about 460-soul in the district in Innsbruck country was hit by serious storms on Monday. While the clean -up work is running at full speed, former Mayor Christian Felder gave the “Krone” an emotional interview (see video).
“There has never been what happened on Monday at 6.30 pm,” says Felder. He talks about the start of the storm, how buildings in the city center would have prevented much worse. “Otherwise there are probably only damaged houses, or no more houses.”
He describes the course of the huge storm cell and how the violent precipitation and hail set the huge Scree mass.
Mühlendorf completely destroyed
The former mayor becomes particularly emotional in the Mühlendorf-a Popular Open-Air Museum with a focus on Watermolen. The great destination that the 20th birthday would have celebrated next year was completely destroyed except one chapel.
