Notary, manager, pharmacist and MP: many members of the National Council work twice. But how much part -time jobs can democracy tolerate? The spirits differ between our readers. Here you can read how split our community is looking at the Politian-Nebenjobs.
Politics is not part of
Many in the community see a clear incompatibility between the task as a representative and sometimes time -consuming side win. Some therefore even require a ban on additional income for MPs – comparable to government members. Those in parliament are responsible for the entire country and must devote themselves to this task with full power instead of giving themselves away in side assignments.
Politics needs a practical time
Others welcome it when MPs are also active in the private sector. After all, the parliament must map society – and this also includes entrepreneurs and self -work. Those who work on the side bring valuable practical relevance and economic understanding into legislation. As long as everything is charged correctly and the political work does not suffer from it, many see no problem.
Your opinion counts:
Are the sub -time jobs compatible with the mandate – or should politics demand a complete concentration?
