Sainz: “The aim is to return Williams to the top”

The team Williams Racing announced Monday the signing of Carlos Sainz for the 2025 and 2026 seasons., for two years, with an option for more. The Spaniard decided to choose this project before the offers he had Alpine and Audi (Sauber in 2025), and he did it because, as the driver himself said, he believes in the Grove project, a legendary team that Carlos believes can copy what McLaren has achieved in recent years to come out in a big hole results to reach the fight for victories.

Carlos has been key in his development work and leadership on the track at McLaren to start the revival of those from Woking. And now he wants to do the same with another iconic team like Williams, sure he can get back to the top.

“I am very happy to announce that I will be joining Williams from 2025. It’s no secret that the driving market this year is very complicated for many reasons and that it took me some time to announce my decision. However, andI am very confident that Williams is the right place for me to continue my journey in F1 and I am very proud to join such a historic and successful team. where many of my childhood heroes drove in the past and left their mark on our sport,” explained Carlos Sainz in a statement from the Williams team.

In it, the 29-year-old from Madrid made it clear that he will be leaving a Ferrari at the end of this season to join the English team. with total belief that the team can reach the top again.

“The ultimate goal of getting Williams back where it belongs, at the front of the grid, is a challenge which I accept with enthusiasm and positivity. I am convinced that this team has all the right ingredients to make history again and, starting January 1, I will do my best to promote Williams with every member of the team,” said Carlos confidently.

Vowles highlights Williams’ ambition with his signing
