In a statement from the Spanish Cycling Federation, it was indicated that the cyclist underwent “various medical tests” on his return to Spain, which confirmed the extent of the injury that “forced him to spend several weeks of rest before returning to training.

Albert Torres, 34, had to withdraw from the Madison event due to a crash with 27 laps remaining, caused by a Belgian rider who also crashed into the wood of the Saint Quentin-En-velines National Velodrome.
