The Mallorca full-back, however, was in danger of being sent off before half-time in a dispute with the Brazilian. Vinicius protects the ball and Maffeo comes from behind late and badly and gets his studs into his calf.
Soto Grado punished the foul with a simple yellow card despite complaints from Madrid and the actions of Vinicius, who was writhing on the ground in pain.
