Lille removed coach Jocelyn Gourvennec on Thursday after a disappointing season in which the 2020-21 Ligue 1 champion finished in tenth position on the table.
Gourvennec, 50, is in office just a year after replacing Christophe Galtier, who joined Nice and is now wanted by PSG.
The only trophy Gourvennec won with Lille was the French Super Cup when they beat PSG 1-0. His team was eliminated in the second round of the Champions League against Chelsea and failed to qualify for any European competition for the coming season.

});
“Lille would like to sincerely thank Jocelyn Gourvennec for her cooperation, her commitment and her professionalism throughout this season of 2021-2022,” Lille said in an official statement.
According to L’Équipe, Gourvennec’s successor could be the Portuguese Paulo Fonseca.
