The team’s most offensive defender had to reinvent himself and show his defensive virtues. The time Spain equalized showed his fine left foot, but it didn’t last long. In defense he looks focused and well positioned. Spain did not suffer on its side.

He entered the break without playing a single minute this season and became a surprise starter. It didn’t even help him to play at a disadvantage, having to cover a lot, which became noticeable as the minutes ticked by. He was good as usual, especially with the ball at the start of the match.

Big game and no doubt MVP of the rivalry. He came from regular play against Serbia, from conceding a goal that was almost over, and he recovered wonderfully. Not just because of the two goals he scored, but because he was a support in the midfield, cutting a lot of balls and playing with great judgment.

He looks less fresh than at the end of the season, but he is a constant danger. He made a great play on the second goal, even though he finished poorly. Spain didn’t know how to exploit this by playing superiority to come out on the counterattack, something they complained about on the pitch.

He had to leave the field upset in the first half because of the red card to Le Normand. Luis de la Fuente decided he had to leave to rebuild the team with Vivian.

His inexhaustible talent is simply amazing. He didn’t take long to leave his mark on the game, with a personal play that spilled down the wing and assisted Joselu. He also contributed to the second goal and continues to leave details of a world-class player. They gave him a break halfway through.

It completely ends everything. He proved to be a valid alternative to Morata, scoring only to start the rivalry. However, for obvious reasons, he had to devote himself to defending, combing balls or handling them. He assisted Ferran for the fourth.

First big game for Athletic player with Absoluta shirt. He was tasked with covering Le Normand’s red and he left everything on the grass. He proved a defensive bulwark when cutting and on aerial balls.

Playing for Spain is clearly his thing. He came on at half-time for Lamine Yamal and showed defensive sacrifice in helping Carvajal, but he was key in the rival area. First to help Fabián and then run into space and end the game.
