Enric Mas and the exclusive club of those who came close to winning La Vuelta

Enric Mas climbed to his fourth podium of Back to Spain in this recently completed edition of 2024. The third drawer of the Balearic cyclist, from 29 yearsplacing him within the exclusive club of runners who have come so close to total success… up to four times. Before him, there were only two other precedents, that of José Pérez Francés in the sixties and Miguel María Lasa in the seventies.

Others who are on the verge of victory in the Spanish major are Carlos Sastre, Joaquim Rodríguez and Reimund Dietzenthey all have three podiums and no overall victory in the Hispanic round.
