The Welsh Geraint Thomas (Ineos) is back on top of a podium as the final winner of 85th edition of the Tour of Switzerland once the eighth and final stage in the individual time trial modality with a route of 25.6 km start and end in Vaduz, capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein, where the Belgian won Remco Evenepoel.
Evenepoel (Aalst, 22 years old) flew the time trial at 54 km/hour, setting a finish time of 28.25 seconds that no one could beat. Geraint Thomas approached in 3 seconds, with the effort being enough to achieve the general’s yellow jersey. Third place in the time trial went to Swiss Stefan Kung, 10 seconds behind.
Colombian Sergio Higuita (Bora) could not retain the lead, something one from Medellín already suspects, as he only has a 3 -second advantage over Thomas, an individual wrestling specialist.
