Mauro Schmid signed his first great success on the Tour of Belgium

Schmid, 22, has two successes so far as a professional, one stage of the Giro d’Italia in 2021 and one at Copppi e Bartali Week this year. In Belgium, he sealed his first success in a stage career.

Fabio Jakobsen won the final stage of the sprint ahead of two other Belgians: Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) and Gerben Thijsen (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert). The Dutchman launched a decisive attack a hundred kilometers from the end.
