There are few careers as volatile as the appointment of Road Cycling World Championship. Some editions whose circuits are designed by and for sprinters, other times for runners with an off-road profile and others present a very difficult route, which is what will happen this Sunday in Swiss appointment in Zurich.
The race starts at 10:30 am and is scheduled to end at 5:30 pm, and cyclists will have to tackle a challenging route of 273.9 kilometers and 4,470 meters of elevation gain, including departure from Winterhur and arrival at Zurich.
Runners have to complete seven laps of the final circuit of 27 kilometers and 501 meters of elevation in and around Zurich. It is a circuit of constant up and down, where the Kyburg ascended (1.1 km at 12% average slope and ramps up to 16%), Zürichbergstrasse (1.1 km at 8% average slope and maximum ramp of 15%) and Witikon (2.3 km at 5.7% average slope and ramp up to 9%).
A tour where the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar starting as the main favourite, with the Belgian’s permission Remco Evenepoel or Dutch Mathieu Van der Poelthe three great candidates for gold are now in the fight for the medals.
