Reus’ first defeat of the season against a Peralada side that added its first victory of the season after three consecutive draws. The match was decided thanks to a goal from Gerard Caixàs, who had just finished on the field, in the second half.
The first action was one of clear dominance by the red and black team, who had the opportunity to enter the break with an advantage on the scoreboard. As soon as it started, Torrents dribbled past the oncoming goalkeeper and forced a Peralada defender to clear it off the line as the goal was called. After a quarter of an hour, Torrents tried again, but Mujika avoided the goal with a great save. Two minutes later it was Ricardo Vaz who tested the ‘xampanyer’ goalkeeper. In the 20th minute, Torrents again tried a shot that just missed the post.
In the second half, the game lost its intensity. Reus barely hit the spot as Peralada hit the mark with his first attempt. Aliou assisted Gerard Caixàs who did not disappoint against Verdejo. In extra time Reus had the tying goal, but Pau Russo’s shot, after collecting a dead ball in the area, hit the post.
El Prat won in the 92nd minute thanks to Ashot’s goal
