Italian tennis players Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori became the champion of the China Open in doubles men by winning 4-6, 6-3 and 10-5 in the pair formed by the Finnish Harri Heliovaara and the British Henry Patten.
The match started with a contested first set, where Heliovaara and Patten achieved a crucial break in the third game which allowed them to take the lead and maintain the advantage until closing the set 4-6.
The Finnish-British pair took advantage of their solidity on serve, with three straight serves in the first set, to put the Italians in trouble.
however, Bolelli and Vavassori react in the second set, finding his rhythm on serve and earning a decisive break in the eighth game to take the set 6-3, forcing a ‘super tie-break’.
In the final tiebreaker, the Italian duo showed more force and concentration, leading from the start to seal a 10-5 victory and win the ATP 500 tournament title in Beijing.
To this success, Bolelli and Vavassori added theirs third doubles title of the seasonsuccessfully closed an outstanding week of competition in the Chinese capital.
