The Nottingham owner was accused of misconduct

Date:

The English federation (FA) accused the owner of Nottingham Forest, the eccentric Evangelos Marinakisof misconduct for inappropriate behavior after the defeat suffered by his team on Saturday in the Premier League against Fulham (0-1).

The FA says Marinakis’ behavior in the City Ground tunnel following Nottingham’s first defeat in the English championship was inappropriate. The Greek tycoon has until Monday to respond to the accusation.

A penalty would have meant Forest’s first defeat

Forest’s unbeaten status ended on matchday six as a result of a lengthy review by a game between defender Murillo, from Nottingham, and Andreas Pereira, midfielder from Fulham.

VAR intervention took the lead to referee Josh Smith to award a penalty in favor of Fulham which the Mexican striker converted Raul Jimenez in the 51st minute.

Two penalties were not called and a goal was disallowed

Forest’s anger grew even worse when VAR ruled against them after penalties were called in two actions against Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi. Moreover, it is also in the first part Chris Wood’s goal was disallowed for offside.

This is not the first time Forest have had problems with VAR. In April, following the defeat against Everton in April (2-0), the club reported that it “warned” the Board of Professional Match Referees (PGMOL) that “VAR is a fan of Luton, but they did not change it” . Luton and Nottingham fall into the fight for permanency.
