Movistar has confirmed the signing of Pablo Castrillo

Movistar team will continue to have many of the best future Spanish riders in its ranks, and today announces the inclusion of Pablo Castrillo (Jaca, Huesca, ESP; 2001). The man from Alto Aragonese, promoted to the ranks of AD Galibier and a member of the Kern Pharma Team in the last three campaigns, has signed with the Telefónica team to end of 2027.

Jaime’s brother, member for two campaigns (2018-19) of the squad led by Eusebio Unzué, Pablo is not the only revelation of La Vuelta 2024where he successfully won two partials -Manzaneda (12th stage) and Cuitu Negru (15th stage)-.

Castrillo is also one of the most consistent Spanish cyclists this year, at a high level in events as varied as O Gran Camiño -3rd in the CRI of Coruña; last held with Vingegaard in the lands of Ourense -, Slovenia (5th), Burgos (7th), Nacionales (8th in CRI, 7th in line), San Sebastián (top-20) or Croatia (7th). His consistency and value helped him to be part of the Spanish National Team at the Zurich World Cup just ten days ago.

“These last weeks have been a big step for me as a person and an important boost for my sports career.a, which is indicated in that contract with a WorldTour team such as the Movistar Team. They are the reference of Spanish cycling and it is always a special pleasure to ride for this team,” declared Castrillo after announcing his signing.

He was happy with his team change and his end of the season. “There are a few weeks to assimilate what was achieved in La Vuelta and this 2024 seasonwhich I consider very regular on my part. Those two victories; also goes to the house of my new team, with the wonderful Telefónica headquarters… Everything was very intense and I will never forget it,” he thanked.

Castrillo believes in the Movistar project. “People who are close to me and have told me how the team looks have given me a lot of confidence about this signing. I share the training with Jorge Arcas and he explains to me what the team looks like inside, how they will take care of me and the things that are done well. My brother Jaime also told me how beautiful it is,” he stated.

Finally, Castrillo promised a job. “I approach the team with great confidence and eager to get started. This is a big step and I want to contribute as much as possible, do my part so that the team continues to grow and I do. I’m looking forward to 2025 and being able to wear that jersey,” he concluded.
