Juan Carlos Ferrero: "Alcaraz loves to play here"

The Murcian tennis player exercised on Tuesday for the first time at the All England Club, joined by Ferrero, his physiotherapist Juanjo Moreno, and Swiss Stan Wawrinka as his rival on the other side of the net.

“Carlos loves to play on the lawn, loves to play here”Ferrero told Efe after the two -hour session. “In academia we came from training on artificial grass, which was never exactly the same. Physically, he worked well and at the tennis level, took care of his elbow a bit, with a bandage. That the balls were so beautiful .the heavy bothered him a bit. This week is important to prepare, to feel good and everything is in the right place and to fight ”.

Alcaraz, who signed up to play Queen’s last week, gave up the tournament for some shortness of breath in the elbow which is protected by a bandage these days.

“You’re kind of bothered, and the bandage is to protect a little moreFerrero confirmed.

This will be Alcaraz’s second appearance in the Wimbledon final draw, after losing in the second round last season.

“This tournament is the hardest, because it’s the one with a little bit of preparation. Physically you have to be better, because this is the one that recovers the hardest from one game to the next. This tournament is unknown. There are a lot of surprises always on top of this. You can complicate a game that you see as good and vice versa ”, explains one from Ontinyent.

Regarding the decision to work out with Wawrinka, Ferrero pointed out that it wasn’t for any particular thing and that he was only asking a few tennis players and the Swiss accepted.

Alcaraz will play this Thursday in his first match at the exhibition Hurlingham against a rival who has not yet been confirmed.
