Former Borussia Dortmund player and former German international Kevin Grosskreutz (36) responded with surprise to the recent decision of Jurgen Klopp to work as ‘Head of Global Football’ at Red Bull. “When we meet, I will tell him personally that I think it is bad that he would do something like that,” the ex-professional footballer angrily declared.
“I woke up, I had 30 messages on my phone and I was thinking: What Grosskreutz said on the podcast ‘Viertelstunde Fußball’. When he finally found out the reason, he didn’t want to believe it at first: “I, like many, I thought I was in a dream and later hoped it was fake news.”
But soon after it became official: “It was a shock and a sadness. Somehow I still haven’t fully assimilated it. I’ll tell you personally. I don’t think anyone expected it . It is very, very strange and I still do not understand it, however, he is a friend of mine who I will always be grateful for.”
“As a football fan, I think it’s shit, but as a friend you have to accept these decisions. When we meet I’ll tell him personally that I think it’s shit that he’s doing something like that !”
