The road is the great complaint of the four Murcian clubs

Date:

Yeclano, Mar Menor, UCAM and Cartagena B had no choice but to fall into a group with the sixteen Andalusian teams

Total unity among the four Murcian teams that will compete in the Second RFEF next year. For all of them, without exception, the composition of group 4 is detrimental to their interests, both from a sporting and economic point of view: «We are not happy at all, as we have not had any chance to vote for another option. We have eight journeys ahead of us with more than 1,600 kilometers between them, which will mean almost 40,000 euros more in spending. There were other better options, such as making a group similar to last year’s, drawing the teams from Murcia, Valencia and some of the Andalusians. For the most modest teams, the increase in travel costs will be a burden, it will take away the opportunity to attract a player ”, warns Omar Nicolás, sports director of the Mar Menor, who is very angry.

Pedro Romero, president of Yeclano, resigns in the forced elections: «We accept it, but we don’t like it. In addition, due to our geographic location, Yeclano has to travel an extra 200 kilometers to undertake each trip. We feel economically disadvantaged; the clash against, for example, Hércules and Valencia B would also have been important for us”, confirms the visible head of the Northwest teams, who knows that 62% of the 90 Second RFEF teams voted ‘yes’ to this configuration of groups that mainly benefits the teams from Madrid and also the teams from the north of Spain.

The UCAM also emphasizes the sporting aspect, as rising will cost more than in other groups, while it seems that there will be a big battle to avoid relegation: «It is by far the strongest group, it is like group IV of all the to live.

The Federation had to offer the teams in this category more alternatives as there was only the possibility to vote against or in favour. This situation forces us to spend more than 40,000 euros on travel than we planned,” said José Botella, manager of the university club.

“It’s going to be a very difficult group where four of the ten teams that were relegated from the First RFEF last season have fallen and where there are strong supporters of First Division teams and also other historic clubs,” said Joaquín Martínez, a member of the Cartagena’s Sports Commission. For the black and white club “it was not the group we expected as we wanted to be framed with the closest Valencians, Castilians and Andalusians. We accept it; it looks like the old Second RFEF,” says Joaquín Martínez.

Yeclano’s managers have already done the math and assure they will be the Murcian team with the most miles ahead in the 2022-23 season. To take the A-92 in the direction of Andalusia, the Barça Expedition will have to travel an extra 200 kilometers each time to travel from Yecla or return, making each trip to Andalusia a more arduous odyssey than the rest.

For the team led by Adrián Hernández, the two toughest journeys are to the province of Huelva, both to San Roque de Lepe (736 kilometers between the two cities) and to Recreativo de Huelva (706). the ones that lead them to the province of Cádiz (Sanluqueño, Cádiz B and Xerez Deportivo), the second longest.

Under a hundred kilometers, Yeclano only has the UCAM, while outside the region the shortest trip is the one to El Ejido, with a distance of 337 kilometers.
