RFEF accelerates the election of a new president

Date:

This Friday the electoral process begins in the RFEF. As MD found out, the federation convened the Board of Directors and the Delegate Commission for the next day at the end of the morning after This Wednesday the deadline to close the final electoral roll has ended.

Tomorrow can be set the date when the Board of Directors of RFEF will form the Management Commission with the corresponding official call.

In this instance, and in accordance with the Ministerial Order that controls the electoral processes of the federations, this Manager must be composed of 12 members and of which six must come from the Delegate Commission and six more from the Board of Directors .

The RFEF will try to comply with the “parity law” in the future Management Commission, which establishes a minimum of 40% female representation. Initially this meant that 4 of the twelve members were women. It turns out that this is not possible because the Delegate Commission was formed in 2020 and when this law was not implemented, there was only one woman. certainly María Angeles García “Yaye”, vice president and head of the RFEF and the Board of Directors. Added to this are six women, including Yaye, who make up 40% of the current Board that was formed in April of this year and consists of 19 members.

The federation wants the Management Commission that oversees the RFEF throughout the electoral process in the coming months to have at least three women out of a total of 12 members. One of them for sure Maria Angeles Garcia as within six members of the Management Commission and there shall be at least two others from the Board of Directors. Right now they are part of this body along with “yeah” and as members Antonia González Fernández, Olga Ventaja, Eva María Prieto, Marta Frías and Olga María Chaves.

By mid-January there may be a president

Once this Management Commission is established and the date is set, the process will begin to elect the new General Assembly that will govern Spanish football for the next four years and will consist of up to 143 members. If all goes according to plan, it could be established by mid-December. And that is when the future candidates for the RFEF presidency from 2024 to 2028 will be able to present themselves.

An electoral process that, also conditioned by dates, can be defined in mid-January with the president who will govern the RFEF until 2028.
