I had to get up early to watch the race. Moto2 of the Australian GP but it was certainly impossible for anyone to sleep with him rivalry for victory between Fermín Aldeguer and Aron Canet. The two Spaniards starred in an exciting race with blistering pace and a final lap not for the faint of heart. Finally, it is The Murcian who won the victory, the third of the season, who has fought him since the German GP in July.
In second place, Aron climbed up the positions in the general classification and was the main chaser of Ai Ogura. However, many things need to change the Japanese will not be crowned champions sooner rather than later with a margin of 65 points with only 75 at stake. Senna Agius, the local driver, closed out the podium on a day he will never forget.
Fermín Aldeguer had a poor start and saw how Alonso López and Aron Canet passed him in the first instance. However, they were unable to escape and the three stood at the lead with a better pace than the rest of the grid
Canet looked to run away from the lead and lowered the circuit record to 31.0 but Aldeguer immediately responded by overtaking his teammate to take second and set the best lap in 1:30.9. In fact, with 15 laps to go, the Murcian took advantage of Corbera’s mistake and regained the first position.
From here began a duel of constant fast laps between the two and a distance of half a second that did not allow a single mistake. But Aldeguer made a mistake that Canet took advantage of to overtake him with seven laps to go.
The frenetic ending
But for Fermín this Sunday the only thing worth winning was and he once again overtook Canet at turn 4 and pulled like he wasn’t leading tomorrow for the last two laps so Aron couldn’t get the move back. But Canet tried until the end and the duel was incredible. First the Valencian was able to pass the Murcian at turn 4 but Aldeguer returned the play in the 10th with a touchdown. That they didn’t come down was a miracle.
Things were worse for Alonso López. The Spaniard did fall as he ran into no man’s land in third position and opened the podium doors for Agius, the local idol.
As for Ai Ogura, the Japanese was unable to celebrate the title of world champion but was able to extend his lead at the top of the overall standings with his fourth place. There is a 65 point margin compared to Canet, now second, with only 75 at stake. He hopes to become the champion in Thailand next week.
