The British Lando Norris (McLaren) assured this Sunday after finishing second is the Mexican GP with the Dutch piloting Max Verstappen (Red Bull) is not “clean driving”, but he said he was satisfied because he “avoided” bigger problems when it came to overtaking him.
Norris collided with Verstappen after the Dutchman pushed him off the track on lap nine, leading to a twenty-second penalty on the World Championship leader, with the Briton reducing the World Championship gap by ten points, leaving it at 47.
“It was a very difficult race. The first few laps I tried to hold on and not crash, but Sainz drove very well, the Ferrari was very fast and I tried my best” Norris admitted.
“I know I have to wait, I don’t want to wait for what happened because I respect Verstappen, but It was not a clean ride in my opinion. In any case, I avoided it and it was a good race,” insisted Norris, who explained that he will continue to “keep his head down” and do his job “to the best of his ability,” knowing that this weekend is they are not “the fastest.”
