Olympique de Marseille and its fans have announced, on the occasion of tomorrow’s Ligue 1 match against Auxerre, a series of initiatives in favor of the victims of the floods in Valencia.
During the match Marseille players will wear a t-shirt on which the flag of the Valencian Community will appear. These shirts will later be auctioned off and the funds raised will be donated to Secours Populaire Française (French Popular Relief), a non-profit association, to help the victims.
For their part, Marseille’s main supporter groups launched a collection of hygiene products, food and basic needs to be sent to the populations affected by the flood. The containers will be placed on the two esplanades of the Stade Vélodrome.
Floods that hit southeastern Spain last week have left at least 219 dead, mainly in the Valencia region.
