The former player of La UD Las Palmas, Deivid, was convicted of mistreating and threatening his partner

Date:

The Court of Violence against Women number 1 of Gran Canaria sentenced former UD Las Palmas player Deivid Rodríguez to 80 days of work for the benefit of the community as the author of two crimes of sexist violence: specifically, one of injuries and another threat.

The sentence, advanced by The Province and made public by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, is dictated by compliance and is not appealed, since Deivid Rodríguez pleaded guilty to the charges and accepted the sentences proposed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The facts purported to be true by the former player, who is currently part of the club’s technical management, indicate that he had an argument with his partner on Monday night.

During that argument, Deivid pushed and pulled the woman’s hair, grabbed her neck, and bit her face and shoulder, all while yelling insults at her.

Next, the sentence added, the former soccer player took a knife and went into the room where his partner’s son, a ten-month-old baby, was sleeping.

The woman managed to get him out of the child’s room, while Deivid raised the knife at him and shouted: “I will kill you, son of a dog, if you have ruined my life, I will kill you, your father and your son.”

As a result of this attack, the woman sustained bruises that required initial medical attention and took ten days to heal.

The decision prohibits Deivid from approaching the victim and her child within 500 meters for the next 40 months (20 months for each of the crimes), as well as contacting her directly or indirectly in any way.
