We are still shocked by the images of the attack suffered by Javier Aguirre, coach of Mexico, at the end of the clash with Honduras. A behavior that will be punished by CONMEBOL on whom the disciplinary responsibility for the match rests.
In fact in his article 6 of the Disciplinary Code with all options to be accompanied by a financial penalty. In particular, it speaks of “Obligation to play one or more matches behind closed doors or with a limited number of spectators; Partial closure of the stadium; Prohibition of playing one or more matches in a particular that stadium; d. Obligation to play one or more matches on neutral ground or Obligation to play one or more matches in a third country”
Because it is the Honduran Federation that is responsible according to article 8 of the same Code where it speaks of “Objective Responsibility” and where it clearly states that “the Member Associations and the clubs are responsible for the conduct of their players, officials, members, attendees, fans, as well as any person who exercises or may exercise on his behalf in any activity on the occasion of the preparation, organization or celebration of a football match, whether official or friendly Violations which was done on purpose and neither will the opportunity be punished.”
It also added that “Member Associations and clubs are responsible for security and order in and around the stadium, before, during and after matches in which they are hosts or organizers. This responsibility extends to all incidents which may occur of any nature, find themselves exposed to the imposition of disciplinary sanctions and compliance with such orders and instructions as may be adopted by the Judicial Boards.”
Furthermore, in its principles of conduct in article 11 specifically talks about “Committing an act of violence or aggression” and in article 12 related to “Order and Safety in stadiums” it includes how the national Federation is responsible for “The launch of things.”. So the normal thing is that CONMEBOL has decided to open now an extraordinary file ending the serious sanctions for the Federation of Honduras.
