Yesterday, the Ciutat de València paid a moving and emotional tribute to the victims and those affected by DANA before the match between Levante and Elche, the first played in the Community after the disaster.
The players of the Granota team took to the field with shirts stained with mud and the two fans and all the members of the two clubs participated in an event in memory of the affected populations that went around the world.
A giant flag of the Valencian Community was displayed on the pitch, donated by Real Madrid for the occasion. The white club displayed that flag in the two tributes it held at the Bernabéu, the first against Milan in the Champions League and the other against Osasuna in the Liga.
Both Levante and Valencia have asked Madrid to move the said flag so that it can be used in their respective recognition events. The Granota club thanked the white entity for the gesture in a message on the X social network.
“Many gestures, details in stadiums around the world in tribute to the victims and our land for DANA.
That’s why we asked Real Madrid for the Senyera with which they honored us at the Bernabéu: a symbolic gesture to bring all that support home. Thank you for making it possible,” she wrote.
Valencia, for its part, will hold an event in memory of the victims this Saturday during the match against Real Betis at the Mestalla.
