monza has managed to ensure its presence in the calendar despite the doubts that have existed in recent years and after carrying out some major works to update its facilities to the demands of the highest category of world motorsport.

Among the many changes that needed to be made to the world’s second-oldest circuit still in operation, the Autodromo changed the tunnels where pedestrians and cars meet, now separating them for greater safety. And they also strive to offer better products for VIP attendees, something that is said to be the reason to move the current press room to an external building to convert the large existing space in the main building into a hospitality area.

For months, Monza’s continuation in F1 was taken for granted, Not so for the other Italian track with a presence on the current calendar, Imola, due to its older facilities and the complexity of maintaining two appointments in the same country. at a time when there are too many circuits wanting to take up space on a calendar that already has 24 races.

“It is a great honor for us, the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI), to be able to guarantee the celebration of the Italian F1 Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for six more seasons after 2025”declared Angelo Sticchi Damiani, President of the Automobile Club d’Italia, in a statement from F1.

“In particular, I would like to highlight the main contribution of the Italian Government and the Lombardy Region, which invested resources in this centennial circuit and financed the works carried out this year,” he said in relation to the remodeling of the route.

“As we all know, Monza is the oldest circuit in the world to host a World Championship race, and is also the oldest event on the World Championship calendar. We all know that history is no longer enough. Following the resurfacing of the track and underpasses to improve safety on the track and for the fans, we now face a new challenge in 2025: improving the quality and quantity of the hospitality offer. With this in mind, we are working hard to stay ahead of the standards demanded by modern Formula 1,” he concluded.
