In F1 Qatar GP sprint race argued this Saturday, a very painful battle took place between two would-be pilots Ferrari teammates in 2025: Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Both drivers had a good rivalry in the same battle for the final fourth position, with the Monegasque winning.
It happened on lap 13 of 19 total. Lewis Hamilton got ahead of Leclerc at the start, taking advantage of the fact that the Monegasque had to brake at turn 1 to avoid touching Sainz, who had slipped at that moment. The Monegasque moved two seconds out of the top 5 to manage the tires and that allowed him to reach the end of Saturday’s short heat with better tires to attack Lewis.
He did it on lap 13. He latched onto Hamilton’s rear wing on the straight to take advantage of the slipstream and attacked Lewis under aggressive braking. Hamilton kept the outside in the first turn to take the inside of Turn 2 and LEclerc, who went all in, opened up a little and grabbed Hamilton.
The left side of Charles’ front wing touched Lewis’s right front wheel and it seems that the Englishman’s right rear wheel also slightly hit the side of the Ferrari driver’s car. However, luckily for both of them, the touch had no consequences and they were able to continue their fight.
Neither of them let go and they rolled together. Charles, on the outside of turn 2, in the dirt, completed the overtake without breaking down he is new 7 times world championgoing faster outside and keeping the foot down.
During the next braking, at turn 4, Hamilton tried to reverse the maneuver to his rival on the inside and Leclerc defended his position bravely on the outside, taking fifth place over Lewis.
