Carlos Alcaraz went this Tuesday to enjoy the NBA with the New York Knicks-Orlando Magic game just one day before participating in a tennis exhibition in the Big Apple.
The Spanish tennis player went to Madison Square Garden to see this NBA match from the front row and surely the legendary New York stadium will be the setting this Wednesday for ‘The Garden Cup’, an exhibition where Alcaraz will face the American Ben Shelton.
Alcaraz sat out Knicks-Magic with his brother Álvaro on the right and with Shelton on the left.
In addition to Alcaraz-Shelton, ‘The Garden Cup’ will also have a women’s duel between the Americans Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro.
Murcian has a very special connection with the New York public in particular and American in general and this Friday he will also participate in another exhibition in Charlotte (North Carolina, USA).
At the ‘Charlotte Invitational’ she will face the American Frances Tiafoe while in the women’s section, the faces of Americans Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys can be seen.
Winner of four grand slams, Alcaraz will look to complete the ‘big four’ at the 2025 Australian Open after his two Wimbledons, one Roland Garros and one US Open.
“I’m sure I will be Australian champion sooner or later. Hopefully this year (next),” he said Tuesday in a meeting with journalists in New York prior to his exhibition on Wednesday.
