This Monday, Sainz completed a day of filming with his new 200 kilometer team, riding the Williams FW46 car for the first time, although only on Tuesday he got more sensations to adapt to his new car in the post-season tests to also help Pirelli in building tires for the next World Cup in 2025.
The Spaniard, along with Felipe Drugovich (Aston Martin), completed the most laps at the Yas Marina Circuit, completing a total of 146 laps. However, Sainz achieved the second best time of these tests (1:23.625), remaining only 0.125 behind Charles Leclerc (1:23.510), who completed 134 laps of the track. In turn, George Russell completed the same number of laps as the Monegasque, and the Briton achieved the third best time of the day in his Mercedes (1:23.789).
The session passed normally and without notable incidents, the purpose of which is to collect data for the development of tires for the next season, which can begin to be tested from the beginning of the preseason in Bahrain, from February 26 until 28. .
