The COE honored the Olympic medalists with a camel ‘stick’ to their coach, Santi Denia

This Wednesday, December 11, the Spanish Olympic Committee has organized its traditional annual party at its headquarters in Madrid. And, this 2024, it has become easier than ever to name the best athletes of the course, after Spain’s good performance in Olympic Games in Paris.

Saul Craviottothe athlete with the most Olympic medals, was injured Carolina Marín and the men’s soccer team (represented by the coach, Santi Denia, Álex Baena and Sergio Camello) are some of the winners. In fact, the latter did not hesitate to throw a ‘stick’ at his coach, taking advantage of the fact that he was there.

“It’s my day, so I want all the balls. I rested also because I barely participated in the Olympic Games and I prepared for that moment,” the striker went down on stage. Obviously, all in a humorous tone. In fact, he continued to say the following: “It’s not ‘stick’ at all. I’ve talked to Santi a lot and he’s been saying that to me all week I used to dream that I was the one who would give us Goldso I owe him a lot.”

For his part, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchezwant to celebrate the best news today. And Spain will host the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Morocco: “We will celebrate an event that I think will be historic. I think it will serve to highlight the wonders of our countryagain and again in our football. “I think it’s a good day for everybody,” he concluded.
