The draw for the semi-finals of the English League Cup brought tonight the clashes between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool and Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Tottenham, who eliminated Manchester United today 4-3, will play for a place in the Wembley final against Liverpool, who are defending the title in addition to being current leaders of the Premier League and the Champions League. The Reds eliminated Southampton (1-2) on Wednesday. The first leg will be played in London and the return leg at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, who knocked out Crystal Palace on Wednesday (3-2), will play the first leg at the Emirates Stadium against a Newcastle side who beat Brentford (3-1) on Wednesday.
The round-trip qualifiers will be played on the week of January 6 and February 3, while the final will be played on March 16 at Wembley.
