Juan Mata’s left foot is shining in Australia

Date:

Juan Mata, 36 years old, continues to play soccer. Away from the big spotlights on the European scene and after a long period not competing, he has played ten games in the Australian WS Wanderers shirt.

The former Valencia player who grew up in the Real Madrid youth academy spent a large part of his career in the Premier League, first at Chelsea and then at Manchester United, where he left in 2022. And after a few months at Galatasaray he tried his fate at Vissel Kobe, where Andrés Iniesta and David Villa were there, without a fix.

The veteran and talented left-footed playmaker joined WS Wanderers a few weeks ago and started the year in a big way personally. In the match against Macarthur he started, played more than half a half for the first time and scored a goal. A great goal, better said.

When he signed for the Australian team, all the fans were waiting for this moment. Being able to celebrate a goal of his and for it to be like it was. From the front of the area, using the left foot and lightly hitting a stick. His purpose in life. And with so many other lefties who from that position have the ability to find the long stick with a ‘pass’ to the net.
