The bivouac of Dakar house of some 3,000 people and its extent is immense. Its total area is approx 30 hectaresthat is, like 5 times the total surface area of a stadium like Camp Nou. The meeting place is the central square, the most magical place because of the bonfire in front of the dining room. Right next to the door is another meeting place where you can relax during the day, but mainly it is used for the daily briefing, with a stage where the pilots listen attentively every night on the details of the next day’s episode.
In this initial bivouac there are more amenities than others to make the wait at the start more bearable, such as a games area with arcade video game machines, a machine to test your boxing forehand, billiards, reflex game and you can also shoot some. baskets. Next door is a place with art and typical products from Arabia where there is also local music and tea, as well as a small supermarket to treat yourself, with chips, chocolates and soft drinks. There’s even a volleyball court and a soccer field where you can stretch your legs a bit and relax before the stress and whirlwind of the adventure begins.
Another magical place is the dining room, where serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to everyone is a 9,000 portions of food a day. Even the mechanics and competitors who arrive after dinner will find rations prepared for them. This is the press room, the place where hundreds of journalists from different parts of the world work. And right next to it, the camping area for the press and part of the organization. On the other side of the central street are the aid stations, with all the teams. Along the middle straight, there are a total of 10 streets where you can go to talk to the teams, something we are adding many kilometers to every day. Here we must add, obviously, dozens of toilets and shower areas spread throughout the camp, even in the aid area.
And another magical place, the closed motorcycle park. Original by Motula place apart from other aids for competitors of the purest adventure, without mechanical assistance. And after that, the tents where these real heroes sleep. And finally, the podium where the competitors will start their adventure, located in a strategic place, next to the central flame, so that all the teams can experience such a special moment and enjoy it together.
