Sven-Goran Eriksson He died at the end of last August leaving a debt of £3.7 million (€4 million) after years of financial mismanagement and fraud by his former financial adviser, it has been revealed. The former England manager has total debts of £8.64 million and assets of £4.8 million, leaving his estate with a significant deficit.

The Swede has said on several occasions that he has no control over his finances despite his illustrious football career, reportedly telling Expressen in 2017: “I have no idea how much money I have and where it is.”
He admitted that at one point he was close to bankruptcy after losing £10m at the hands of financial adviser Samir Khan, to whom he had entrusted his fortune in 2007. He later took Khan to court and won, receiving apologizing, but he said he never returned the money. The luxury mansion where Svennis spent the last years of his life is now for sale for what has been described as a “bargain” price.
