The CPI ends 2024 with an increase in the interannual rate of 3.6% in the BAG and 2.7% in Navarre

The increase in inflation is largely due to the increase in fuel prices and tourist packages. In turn, the annual core inflation rate has risen by two-tenths to 2.6%.

The consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.6% in December compared to the previous month Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and the interannual interest rate stood at 3.6% at the end of 2024, according to data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

For his part, Navarre ended 2024 with an increase in inflation of 2.7%, one-tenth less than the Spanish state average and five-tenths more than in November.

By area, the interannual CPI was 3.1% Alavain Bizkaia in 3.6% and in Gipuzkoa by 3.7%.

In the BAG as a whole, the largest annual price increase corresponds to housing, at 8.3%. They are followed by alcoholic drinks and tobacco, with 7%, leisure and culture, with 4.4%, and restaurants and hotels, with 3.8%. In Navarre, the largest increases also concern housing (6.7%) and alcoholic drinks (5.2%).

As for the Spanish stateThe CPI rose to 2.8% year-on-year in December, four-tenths more than the previous month, and rose 0.5% compared to November.

For its part, the annual rate of the core inflation rose by two tenths, to 2.6%.
