The man from Malaga Alexander Davidovich achieved the victory of coming back from two sets this Wednesday, in the second round of Australian Openin Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime, twenty nine seed, and qualified for the third round with a score of (7)6-7, (5)6-7, 6-4, 6-1 and 6-3, in a marathon duel lasting 4 which is hours and 44 minutes.
In the first round, which had to be delayed due to excessive noise on one of the adjacent courts which made both players uncomfortable, with 4-3 for the Canadian and only 42 minutes of play, it was decided in a tiebreaker, where The Spaniard had a set point, which he could not fulfill, and the balance fell to Aliassime.
The second would have the same script, as after both break serve at one time, the set was resolved in a tiebreak with the Canadian winning again.
Davidovich didn’t drop his arms and was strong on serve – 93% and 67% of points won on first and second serves, respectively – and took advantage of the only breaking ball he had in seventh game to send the match to the fourth sleeve (4-6).
