The Back to the Valencian Community (VCV) Gran Premi Banc Sabadell 2025, which will be held between on the 5th and 9th of next Februaryhas announced its route, where the areas affected by damage and where the team’s time trial was recovered.
The 76th edition will be featured 665 kilometers divided into two moderate mountain stages, a high mountain queen stage, the team time trial and the unique final stage with the finish line in the Port of Valencia. A total of nineteen teams will participate, nine of them in the World Tour category.
The municipalities affected by DANA will be very present in this edition. Before the tragedy, the departure of the two Algemesí and Alfafar, and those passing through Benetúser, Massanassa, Catarroja, Albal and Beniparrell They are almost closed and maintaining them requires a lot of effort, especially for the localities, but also for the organization.
However, all parties agreed on the importance of giving visibility to the area, of raising awareness about the need for aid to continue to reach the affected areas and, above all, of sending the message of recovery, hope and future.
In addition, all top jerseys of different race classifications will have name of localities affected by damage.
The route was presented this Thursday afternoon in an event held at the Petxina Cultural Sports Complex in Valencia where Paco Benítez, sports manager of the organization led by former Valencian cyclist Ángel Casero, was the main person in charge of designing and explaining the this route. which will cross the three provinces of the Valencian Community.
The event was attended by the President of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes; the Autonomous Secretary of Tourism, José Manuel Camarero; the General Director of Sports, Luis Cervera; the sports deputies of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, Bernabé Cano, Iván Sánchez and Pedro Cuesta, respectively; and the Deputy General Director and Eastern Territorial Director of Banco Sabadell, Fernando Canós.
Seven editions later, The Valencian round brings back the team time trialone of the public’s favorite modalities and a real attraction for the teams, who can have the first competition test that will serve them in the season.
The first stage of this test will have a route of 34 kilometers between Orihuela and Orihuela Playa. Paco Benítez indicated that “this year we started strong, with a team time trial flat, which will be fast and the time trial could sentence the race due to the specialty of some teams, although we hope not. “
The second stage will be held between La Nucía and Alto de Partegat, in Benifato, still in the province of Alicante. A 166-kilometer route with three mountain passes, Col de Rates, Alto de Benimantell and the unprecedented Alto de Partegat, almost at the end of a stage “that will be nervous, selective and conducive to escape”.
On Friday, the cycling caravan will enter the province of Valencia and visit the first of the towns affected by DANA. From Algemesí the peloton will leave for Alpuente on a 180.6 kilometer stage with Pico del Remedio as the highlight 20 kilometers from the finish line. “This can be one of the most selective stages because of the hardness of the climb,” said Benítez.
The queen’s stage will arrive on Saturday and will take place between Oropesa del Mar and Portell de Morella with a route of 181 kilometers with four mountain passes that can explode the race. Especially the two first categories, Chodos and Vistabella, which will follow in a row for 70 kilometers from the finish line, with more than 3,600 meters of positive gradient.
On Sunday, in the final stage, the organization prepared a stage with wind incentive as the main character.
Again, the departure will come from one of the towns most affected by DANA such as Alfafar. From there, and to the finish line at Shed 2 of the Royal Marina Juan Carlos I in Valencia, the peloton will cross a 104-kilometer route, completely flat, but with up to five zones designed so that the wind is an important factor.
On that Sunday, at 9:00 am, the seventh edition of the VCV Féminas Gran Premio Tuawa will also be held, a test that this year has been promoted to the ProSeries category, which will make the level of participation higher than the others more editions. .
For this edition, the cyclists will leave the mountains of the last two editions, having to face a purely strategic stage marked by the wind. The route is the same as the fifth stage of the men’s race, between Alfafar and Valencia.
