The Belgian Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick Step), European road champion, heads the list of sprinters who will star in the fifth edition of the Saudi event of AlUla Tourwhich will take place from this Tuesday to Saturday, February 1, where the Spanish promise will debut Adria Pericas in the UAE and the British Tom Pidcock including Q36.5 jersey.

The stage event will be held in northwest Saudi Arabia, around the ruins of Hegra, the first place in the Saudi kingdom to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It consists of five stages, three of which are suitable for sprinters.

Spanish cycling will be represented by 2 Pro Tour teams, the Rural Bank and the Kern Pharmawith the idea of ​​being the protagonist at every stage. Furthermore, the debut of Adriá Pericas, national youth time trial champion, one of the promises to be considered in the immediate future.

The decisive stages are the second, upon arrival at Bir Jaydah Mountain Wirkah after a 16 percent ascent that will be repeated three times, and the fourth, whose arrival is located 7.8 km after the summit of Skyviews de Harrat Uwayrid, after a 4 km climb including 900 meters to 17.
