Nick Kyrgios: "i do what i want"

Date:

Even on a day of exemplary behavior on the track, Nick Kyrgios irresistible temptation to avoid the authority and rules of the white dress of Wimbledon.

The 27-year-old Aussie has already received two fines so far in the tournament ($ 14,000 in total) and could face another after walking down the green court with red shoes after his victory against Brandon Nakashima in the round of 16.

Kyrgios played in white sneakers, but after his five -set win he returned to red and also wore a red cap while doing his court interview, previously wearing white in the fight.

When asked afterwards why he deliberately violated the rule that players must wear all white on the court, the Australian offered a brief response.

“Because I do what I want,” said Kyrgios, who entered the quarterfinals for the first time since making his 2014 debut.

When asked if he felt above the rules, he added: “Hindi, I’m not above the rules. I just like to wear my jordans“.

Kyrgios was fined $ 14,000 at Wimbledon this year for spitting at a spectator at the end of a match and for using bad words in his third round clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas.
