Silvia Lloris from Murcia supports the U-19 team

European. Spain advances to the semi-finals first in their group after a 1-1 draw with France, current champions, thanks to a goal almost from the center of the field from the El Palmar footballer

The group stage of the Women’s European U-19 Championship, which takes place on Sunday in the Czech Republic, has saved a big match for the final dance: the last two champions of the continental tournament [España y Francia], face to face in the imposing Bazaly stadium in Ostrava. The poster predicted it wouldn’t be another duel. And with the huge prize at stake from leading group A, the players took it upon themselves from minute one to make it clear that their stakes were maxed out. It was seen in every jump, sprint, shot and tick.

In the national team, the shirt with number 8 stood out from the start. A player who was the best example of the hallmark of the team coached by Pedro López, a team in which on-field struggle and dedication are not negotiated.

Who was that inexhaustible footballer who wore the 8? It is Silvia Lloris (El Palmar, 15 May 2004), who after 29 minutes, at 0-0, put together a cross from almost the middle of the field and the ball, fired violently, pulled a parabola around trick the Marqués goalkeeper and stay behind in the net. The Spanish joy was short-lived as the French team equalized a minute later, but with the Murcian from El Palmar supporting the team from mid-defense, Spain survived a draw that allowed them to finish first in the group. Tomorrow they play in the semifinal against Sweden.

Silvia’s presence in the national team has been noticeable since the first game. She was one of the most notable players in Spain’s 3-1 win over Italy in La Rojita’s debut at the European Championship. Her characteristics were clear and she was confident in the rear, acting as a central defender and showing judgment and great intelligence in her additions to the attack.

Silvia Lloris, capped ten times, has established herself in the top tier of women’s football this season with the Levante shirt. He made the jump in the summer of 2020 to the subsidiary of the Valencian club of the male cadet of El Palmar CF.

Her sports career changed completely in just one season, the 2020-21 season in which she qualified with Levante to play in the Women’s Champions League, in her debut outside of regional football.

In the Valencian team, Yeclana Eva Navarro, one of the stars, was found, and although she signed for the second team, she trained and developed in the dynamics of the first team.

His first big step at Levante was in November 2020, when he made his Iberdrola League debut against Deportivo at the age of 16. “It was a very special moment for me, playing in the First Division was a dream come true,” Silvia said at the time. That was his first step, and it wasn’t wrong. She hasn’t stopped growing since then and Silvia is a player aiming high today. It is another jewel of El Palmar, a Murcian district where tennis player Carlos Alcaraz grew up.
