The Zurich Barcelona Marathon and the eDreams Barcelona Half Marathontwo of the most important athletic events on the national calendar, will open their registration for 2023 this Wednesday, where both they retrieve their usual dates: March 19 and February 19, respectively.
The goal of both is to go back to the number of participants before the pandemic, recovering to traditional dates, to continue breaking circuit records with the participation of the best international elite athletes.
Both the marathon and the half marathon have two very fast routes, with individuality and identity. Back to normal, the goal of these two major athletics events is to regain positions around the world and consolidate itself on the list of top marathons and half marathons in Europe.
Besides being one of the most international, the organization wants to continue betting on increasing female presence and return to set new records.
The eDreams Barcelona Half Marathon has amassed two consecutive editions setting a new men’s record, currently under one hour held by Haftu Teklu (59.06), 33 seconds below the previous record he himself set in 2021.
Similarly, since 2019, the Barcelona Marathon has broken three records in the last three years. The last two achieved in May when in the men’s category were Yihuniligne Adane (2:05:53) and Gebru Redahgne (2:05:58), first and second classified respectively, lowered the 2021 mark achieved by Samuel Kosgei ( 2h. .06). : 03).
