Fabio Fognini was charged against Rafa Nadal after the Spanish victory over Taylor Fritz at Wimbledon. The Italian believes the Spaniard had no physical problems in the quarterfinals and therefore did not deserve the epic associated with his victory.
This was clarified after responding to a headline in the Italian press, which read as follows: “Sporting feat of Rafael Nadal, who reaches the semifinals injured.” Fognini didn’t hesitate to post a clipping of the headline on Instagram, clearly underlining the word “injured”, and accompanied by the following message: “Guys, don’t believe everything you read, PLEASE.”
Nadal is waiting to know this Thursday the extent of his stomach pain. His presence this Friday in the semifinals against Nick Kyrgios depends on it.
