LaLiga president denounces repeated “illegal maneuvers” by the Federation against the programming of Monday and Friday games
The battle between Javier Tebas and Luis Rubiales intensifies. The president of LaLiga has in recent hours filed a complaint against the head of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF) with the Higher Sports Council (CSD) so that it can be handed over to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD), as he understands that “constantly planning games for the coming season.” Club management understands that the FEF is “seriously and continuously challenging” the CSD itself and the court’s decisions.
The LaLiga president’s complaint is specifically directed against Rubiales, the Federation Secretary General, Andreu Camps, and the other members of the delegated committee who voted to approve the game rules for the next campaign in the First and Second Class. Division A, on June 28.
In Tebas’ view, the FEF does not have the authority to set the time slots for the matches, limiting LaLiga’s programming. In this sense, he denounces “several illegal maneuvers” carried out by the FEF to prevent LaLiga from scheduling matches of the professional league it hosts on Mondays and Fridays, “despite court and CSD rulings on the matter in recent years.
“Obviously the FEF is once again challenging the CSD, the courts and this Professional League, using the rules and foundations of competition that do not elevate the CSD to an illegitimate nature to force an unnecessary conflict. There is no doubt that the FEF does not respect the CSD or the courts, and that this is punishable by sports disciplinary measures,” Tebas emphasized.
Therefore, Tebas urges the CSD to urgently forward its complaint to the TAD, requesting that it initiate disciplinary proceedings against Rubiales, Camps and the members of the delegated committee. And he asks that an agreement be reached on the provisional suspension of the files.
