The Italian Giulio Ciccone (Lidl Trek) was the first leader of the 48th edition of the Alps Tour by imposing himself in the first phase played along with the removal and purpose of San Lorenzo Dresino, 148.5 kilometers.
Ciccone (Chieti, 30 years old) was the fastest in a group of 8 runners who played success and won a game with a 3h 42.10 time, on average 40.1 km/hour, at the Austrian Felix Gall and French Paul Seixas, both of the Decathlon. Ecuadorian Jefferson Cepeda (EF Education) and Nineteenth is Spanish Juanpe López (Lidl Trek), 14 seconds in the ninth place.
This is the eleven victory for a climber who won the Mountain Award at Giro and Tour de France, and the first of this season.
After an exit marked by the Platoon awards to Pope Francis after his death in the morning, runners had to face the Carlo Magno field (14.2 km at 6.4 %) and then Passo Durone (6.3 km to 7.8 %), whose climax was just 19 kilometers from the end line.
After several attacks on this final collapse, a squad of 23 units formed which played victory in San Lorenzo Dresino, specifically in the final advancement line, 2.5 kilometers to 6.5.
